King Solomon’s Treasures – I Kings 10:14-23

In the beginning God made the heavens
and the earth. He made EVERYTHING in only six
days! Look under the flaps and see what God
made on each day. God saw that everything He
made was very good and on the seventh day He
rested.

God chose King David’s son Solomon to
be king of Israel after him. God told Solomon
to ask for anything he wanted. Solomon asked
God for WISDOM to be a good king. God was very
pleased with his answer and made Solomon the
wisest and richest king who ever lived!

Jonah
and the Great Fish
– Jonah 1:7-2:10

The people God made did bad things that
made Him sad. Only Noah pleased God. God told
Noah to build a BIG boat and to take his
family and two of every animal inside. Then
God made it rain until water covered the whole
earth! Only Noah and those in the ark were
saved because they believed and obeyed God.

God told Jonah to warn the people of
Nineveh to stop the bad things they were
doing. But Jonah got in a boat to run from
God. God made a terrible storm come up and
Jonah was thrown into the sea. Then God made a
GREAT fish swallow Jonah! Jonah prayed and the
fish spit him out on dry land. Then Jonah
obeyed God and the people stopped the bad
things they were doing.

People soon began to disobey God again.
The cities of Sodom and Gomorrah were so bad
that God decided to destroy them with fire.
There was ONE man in Sodom who did what was
right. His name was Lot. So God warned Lot and
his family to leave and not to look back. But
Lot’s wife looked back and immediately she
became a pillar of salt!

Joseph and Mary, his wife, went to
Bethlehem to be counted. While they were there
she had a baby. She laid him in a manger in a
stable because there was no room for them in
the inn. But this was a very SPECIAL baby! He
was the Son of God, Jesus Christ the Lord, who
was born to be our Savior!

|
Joseph had eleven brothers and one
sister! His father loved him best and made him
a beautiful coat of many colors. His brothers
were jealous of Joseph and sold him to be a
slave in Egypt. But God was with Joseph! He
became ruler of all Egypt and was able to save
the lives of his family and many others!

Jesus was walking by the Sea of Galilee
when he saw Peter fishing with Andrew, his
brother. He called to them, “Follow me and I
will make you fishers of MEN!” Immediately,
they left their nets and followed Jesus. Jesus
wants us to follow Him too!

The
Good Samaritan
– Luke 10:30-34

Joseph’s family moved to Egypt and
had MANY children and grandchildren. The new
king was afraid they would become too
powerful. So he made them slaves. Then he
ordered all their baby boys to be killed! But
Moses’ mother hid him in a basket in the
reeds by the riverbank. The king’s daughter
found him and took him to live with her. When
Moses grew up God used him to lead his people
out of slavery in Egypt!

Jesus told a story about a man who was
attacked by some thieves as he traveled from
Jerusalem to Jericho. They took his clothes
and left him half dead along the road! Two of
his countrymen saw him but just went around
him. Then a Samaritan, who was his enemy, came
by and felt sorry for him. He bandaged his
wounds and took care of him. Jesus wants us to
love EVERYONE – even our enemies!

|
There was not enough food in Israel so
Naomi and her husband and two sons went to
Moab to find food. Naomi’s husband and sons
died and she decided to go back to Israel. Her
daughter-in-law, Ruth, went with her.
Ruth took care of Naomi and gathered
grain for them to eat. God blessed Ruth for
her kindness. He gave her another husband and
a son who became the grandfather of King
David!

After Jesus went back to heaven, there
was a woman named Dorcas who believed in Jesus
as her Savior. She made beautiful dresses for
the ladies whose husbands had died. One day
she became very sick and died. Everyone was
sad! But Peter, Jesus’ disciple, prayed for
her and she came back to LIFE! Then many
people believed in Jesus.
